STROMBERGSHYTTAN JUGS

All the Strombergshyttan jugs I have are great. They have that heavy plastically feel I so like in glass, also 2 of them are just are super sized.

The colour names I have used here are the colour names given in the Elfverson catalogue from the 1930s.

Description, References and Size

This is an optically molded 3.5 pint "Straw" jug. Elfverson pattern number E.517. Designed by Hugh Dunne Cooke or Gerda Stromberg in the 1930s.

As per the other glass, this jug has the same soft shape but what you can't tell from the picture is that the jug is designed to hold 3.5 pints, so it is pretty big. You are going to need strong wrists to pour it.

This like a lot of the other Strombergshyttan glassware I have managed to find has six vertical optical panels.

Height: 11 inches

Width: 7.5 inches

This is an optically molded 3 pint "Smokey Amethyst" jug. Elfverson pattern number 4024. Designed by Hugh Dunne Cooke or Gerda Stromberg in the 1930s.

Like the jug above it has six vertical optical panels. This is a feature that has helped me find a lot of this glass as I have only seen it as line drawings prior to seeing it in the flesh. I am probably missing a lot of their other glass because it doesn't have this distinctive feature that makes you look twice.

Height: 7 inches

Width: 11.75 inches

This is an optically molded 1.5 pint "Silver" jug. Elfverson pattern number 4021. Designed by Hugh Dunne Cooke or Gerda Stromberg in the 1930s.

This jug also has six vertical optical panels. Even though this glass is from the 1930s, Strombergshyttan didn't give many concessions to art deco design, but this has an angular handle married with a round body is a very art deco kind of way.

Height: 7 inches

Width: 8.5 inches

This is an optically molded 1 pint "Elfverson Blue" jug. Elfverson pattern number E.569. Designed by Hugh Dunne Cooke or Gerda Stromberg in the 1930s.

This is a similar shape to the decanter above even down to the small pouring lip. This jug is a part of a service with a decanter and glasses design, I don't have any of them and that is the difficulty with collecting Strombergshyttan from this period is there is so little of it to be found.
